Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Instant Duo (instantduo.com), which is run by [operator's legal name], [address], [country] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

2. Who can use Instant Duo

• You must be an adult: at least 18 years old, or at least 19 if you sign up as a woman, as the profile form currently requires.
• You may have only one account, and it must be your own. Use your own photos and true details about yourself, such as your age, gender and height.
• You must be allowed to make this agreement and to use the service where you live.
• You may not use Instant Duo if we have closed your account before for breaking these terms. [Further exclusions, for example for people convicted of sexual or violent offences, to be decided.]

3. Your account

• Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Your profile needs at least two photos, including one instant photo taken with your camera in the app, so that profiles stay real. Your photos must show you, and must not contain nudity, children or other people without their consent.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app: Account → Delete account. This immediately deletes your profile, photos, matches, chats (also for the people you chatted with), blocks and reports, and it cannot be undone.

4. How Instant Duo works

• When you toss the coin, the app suggests one person at a time, based on your profile and preferences. A chat opens only when you both accept.
• Match percentages and reasons are estimates calculated from profile details. We do not promise that you will find a match, that a match will reply, or that other users are who they say they are.
• The app is in an early stage. The short video before a match and the $2 ad-free month are currently simulated: no real ad is shown and no money is charged. Before real payments start, we will add payment terms here (price, duration, renewal, refunds and, where it applies, your right of withdrawal).
• Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

5. Rules of conduct

You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, insult, stalk or discriminate against anyone;
• send nudity or sexual content, or anything involving minors;
• ask for or send money or financial details, or advertise products, services or other websites;
• impersonate anyone, create a fake profile or use someone else's photos;
• share other people's private information, including messages or photos from Instant Duo, without their consent;
• use Instant Duo for anything illegal, including scams and paid sexual services;
• try to access other users' data, disrupt the service, copy it with automated tools or use bots.

6. Your safety

• We do not run background checks and cannot verify everything users say about themselves.
• Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and never share financial information.
• Use Report and Block in the chat. Reports come to us and we may look at the chat they concern. In an emergency, call the local emergency services.

7. Your content

• Your photos, texts and messages remain yours. You allow us, free of charge and without exclusivity, to store them and show them to the people the app matches you with, only to run Instant Duo and only for as long as they are on the service.
• You are responsible for what you post and confirm that you have the right to post it.
• We may remove content that breaks these terms.

8. Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other users at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why. You can stop using Instant Duo at any time and delete your account in the app.

9. Liability

We run Instant Duo with reasonable care, but we provide it as it is, without promises about matches or results. We are not responsible for what other users do, on Instant Duo or when you meet them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer. [Liability terms to be completed for the applicable law.]

10. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [country]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. Disputes go to the courts of [city, country], unless the law allows you to go to court where you live.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its date and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
